PwC supports public organizations in shaping the financial business case and financial management around capital-intensive investment programs. One of the ministries facing significant growth is the Ministry of Defense. Due to increasing threats and an uncertain geopolitical situation, scaling up the Armed Forces is necessary. This requires accelerated procurement of equipment, IT, as well as adjustments to real estate, infrastructure, and the accelerated realization of other supporting resources. In this function, you will work with a close-knit and ambitious team of approximately 25 consultants with a passion for the security domain, part of a broader group of more than 200 public sector consultants. Together, we realize projects that truly matter. In this position, you are responsible for leading consultants, ensuring quality, and expanding our services within the Defense domain. You will be a discussion partner at director level and translate complex financial issues into strategic solutions. In addition, within our public sector team, you will advise on capital-intensive (investment) projects, based on your financial background. This includes:

• Leading project teams and coordinating financial activities within capital-intensive investment programs, such as feasibility studies, financial business cases for, among others, infrastructure, real estate, Defense equipment, ICT, and security;
• Advising boards and management on financial strategies, business cases, and investment decisions;
• Developing long-term visions and guiding decision-making on budgeting, financing, and life-cycle costs;
• Shaping financial conditions for agreements and participating in negotiation discussions;
• Maintaining relationships with stakeholders and expanding our network within Defense and the public sector;
• Coaching and developing consultants within your team.

Eligibility / Qualification Required:

• As a Manager Financial Management Public Sector, you are the strategic sparring partner for our clients and lead teams working on the largest investment projects in the Netherlands. You combine financial expertise with leadership and ensure that your team contributes to optimizing investments and realizing societal impact.
• A completed university master's degree (wo-masteropleiding), preferably in a financial field (business economics, accountancy, finance, econometrics) or a technical profile with financial expertise.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, for example, in consultancy, within the Defense/security domain or responsibility for complex financial activities.
• Experience with leading teams and managing complex projects.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to advise at a strategic level.
• Experience with financial management, investment analysis, and cost control.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
• We are looking for professionals with several years of work experience. Depending on your experience, you will be placed at the appropriate functional level with corresponding tasks and responsibilities.
