Do you want to contribute directly to better policy in the public sector with economic analyses? Then the role of Senior Consultant in our Finance team is for you! PwC has a unique position as an advisor to the Dutch national government on strategic policy issues with an economic perspective. We work on themes such as the impact of Dutch energy and climate policy on energy-intensive industry, the costs and benefits of nitrogen and noise-reducing measures at Schiphol, and the unprofitable top of energy transition investments in the built environment, industry, and energy production. In addition, we also conduct studies into financing structures and productivity improvements within government organizations, such as research into the fundability of the Police. Our advice contributes to concrete policy and societal debate. We are proud of the impact we achieve and want to continue and shape this in the public sector.
This is what you will do: In addition to our impact, we strongly believe in our people and the qualities they bring. The team is a young team of 40 colleagues with diverse backgrounds, including (micro-)economics, policy economics, public administration, Finance, and mathematics, who enjoy helping each other develop talents. Everyone in the team has a passion for societal issues and wants to make the public sector function better and more effectively. Your core task is to design, analyze, and evaluate policy within the public sector, using economic theory and models to structured and analytically understand societal issues. Additionally:
- You analyze the societal costs and benefits of different policy options;
- You look at market failures and investigate which policy instruments can best adapt them;
- You research how government resources can be used efficiently and how government productivity can be improved;
- You work hypothesis-driven and data-supported: you use large amounts of data, literature studies, policy calculations, official reports (including IBOs and Broad Societal Reconsiderations (BMH)), and theoretical frameworks to arrive at concrete, substantiated policy insights.
