This position will be responsible for leading, supervising, and executing technical activities related to automation, instrumentation, and communication systems across the gas transmission and distribution network. This role demands strong hands-on expertise, system integration capabilities, and the ability to independently manage engineering tasks, operations, site activities, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Eligibility / Qualification Required:

Bachelors in Electrical / Electronics / Mechatronics / Instrumentation or equivalent with at least 4 years of relevant experience. Candidates having experience within gas distribution, oil and gas, utilities, petrochemicals, or energy sectors will be preferred.

Job Description / Responsibilities:

1. Lead the design, configuration, integration, and implementation of automation and control solutions for SSGCs transmission, distribution, and industrial metering facilities.
2. Operate and maintain the installed Automation and Control System.
3. Develop and review P&IDs, loop diagrams, control philosophies, and I/O documentation, ensuring alignment with engineering standards and operational requirements. 
4. Prepare, review, and finalize User Requirement Specifications and detailed design documents, ensuring technical completeness and accuracy. 
5. Design, implement, verify PLC, RTU and HMI applications, ensuring reliable monitoring and control of gas operations.
6. Develop and execute FAT, SAT, validation procedures, and internal testing protocols to ensure system performance, functional compliance, and operational safety.
7. Lead the evaluation, specification, and procurement of field instruments, analyzers, PLCs/RTUs, industrial switches, communication hardware, and automation-related equipment.
8. Review and approve electrical/control schematics, panel drawings, wiring schedules, and I/O lists.
9. Prepare detailed project scopes, BOQs, and technical documentation to support tendering, execution, and contractor management.
10. Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and other departments for project execution and issue resolution.
11. Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of communication networks, including Ethernet, fiber optic, microwave, and wireless telemetry systems.
12. Select and optimize network topologies suitable for SSGC's critical infrastructure, including Star topology for central Automation hub communication, Ring topology with RSTP/MRP/PRP/HSR for redundancy and fault tolerance, Linear/bus topology for remote field stations.
13. Configure, manage, and troubleshoot industrial managed switches, including VLANs and network segmentation, Redundancy protocols (RSTP, MRP, PRP), Port security, link monitoring, and diagnostics.
14. Implement and maintain communication protocols such as Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU, IEC standards, DNP3, and OPC (DAUA). 
15. Ensure high availability, reliable polling, and secure communication between RTUS, PLCs, field instruments, and central Automation servers. 
16. Prepare, verify network architecture diagrams, communication topology layouts, and lACS infrastructure documentation.
17. Strong expertise in 
    1. PLC/RTU programming and troubleshooting
    2. LACS system development and maintenance
    3. Industrial communication networks and protocols
    4. Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, IP addressing, switching, routing basics, VLANS, redundancy protocols, and industrial communication standards.
    5. Ability to lead tasks independently and coordinate cross-functional teams effectively.
